Spot corrosion

Corrosion on any part of the airframe structure should  be kept under control.  Most GA aircraft in Ireland are either un-hangared or in unheated hangars with high levels of condensation.Spot corrosion can grow considerably between Annual Inspections and is a time-consuming task which lengthens the time to complete the Annual and adds to it's cost.

Clean down to bare metal - apply Alodine - primer and 2 coats of top coat.

The boroscope can also be used to inspect inaccessible areas of the airframe for corrosion. Parts of the wing structure not adjacent to an inspection access panel is a good example. It can also be used to inspect the fuel tank walls for corrosion.
